Experience
I was a peer tutor in high school and have logged many hours helping students improve grades and scores. I scored a 2300 on the SATs, a 5 on both of the English AP tests, and a 4 on the French Language test. Although I have been successful at standardized tests, I believe that learning should not just be focused on testing, but also on the bigger picture. I have a wide range of academic interests, from biology and environmental science to anthropology and sociology. I was chosen as the science speaker at my high school science symposium and received an award in science during my senior year. I have taken a wide range of classes at the collegiate level, and also have real world learning experience as I took a gap year during 2013-2014 and studied sustainability and post conflict development both in Asia and in Central America. I am a highly passionate and motivated student and global citizen. I believe that learning is a holistic process and hope that I can help students not only improve in specific subject areas, but also increase their excitement about learning in general.
