I have been teaching middle school full time for 6 years. I have taught both math and science. I have also been working as a private tutor for the past three years. As a private tutor, I tailor lessons to the individual student. This means working with the student's full time teachers to identify and support any skill areas that need to develop further. I can support homework completion, skill building and mastery, complex problem solving, and higher order thinking skill development. I teach through a hands on, inquiry based approach that keeps kids engaged and learning the material.

Hobbies
In my free time I am a writer and a runner. I used to work at a summer camp and really enjoy working with middle school children, so much so that I have made a career out of it. I am really a big goofball, as my students tell me all the time. I think the best learning happens when students are having fun and feeling safe. I work hard to make sure that learning is fun and engaging.
